. new mexico, joseph. hello. caller: this is a perfect segue, the chart she was just showing. obviously new mexico, we have lost a whole industry and construction. which means, that is a lot of entry-level positions, especially coming out of high school. i see so many kids, 19, 20, 21 that are coming out of high school, they cannot even get a part-time job and they are homeless. if we had a construction industry, we had to switch service, instead of new home construction, to stay in business, we had to move into a grudge just to do our work in a storage unit. host: do you own your own home? guest: i do. my mortgage is very low. it is $60,000 or so. that is what i go on it. it started out at maybe $100,000. host: thank you. guest: that is very indicative of the situation. even the we see signs of a rebound in housing, the construction industry is still getting its foot back on the ground. you are seeing younger workers suffer any long-term consequences of what is happening in the economy. even if we do recover in terms of gdp and construction, there are consequences that will continue to

ivie and his two fellow border patrol agents shot at six miles north of the u.s.-mexico line. ivie was killed the other two wounded. this is well-known for drug smuggling going on. they were responding to a tripped motion detector early tuesday morning when someone started shooting at them. they say the drug smugglers have the upper hand. >> they have an advantage in many cases, they are there, we are entering an area and they can easily ambush or flank our movements and they flee. >> agent ivie's body was transported to a local funeral home in arizona. an honor guard will stand watch over his body until burial. >> we just stood here in silence, you know, trying to show our respects and give him the respect that he d deserved. >> pay our respects. let the family know we care. >> i'm a little shaky, i'm emotional over this. it really did not need to happen. >> reporter: agent nicholas ivie was only 30 years old. he joined the force in 2008. he leaves behind a wife and two young daughters. as we learn more about this case we'll pass it along. back to you. jenna: rick, thank you. jon:

. investigators have traced the trouble to sunland incorporated, a peanut butter manufacturer in new mexico that sells products in grocery stores across the country. the list of recalled pea nut butter products is 101 items long and includes nut butters made with almonds, cashews, and sesame seeds. and it gets worse. companies like oregon ice cream, and fairy tale brownies which used the recalled nut butter to make cookies and baked goods they're now recalling their products too. >> people have been getting sick over the last month. and because there's often a two-week delay or so in the reporting time, we expect to hear about case for the next week or two. >> reporter: we should make clear none of this affects moms who choose jiff, skippy, or other main brands. we talked with the managers at the peanut butter company in new mexico. they told us they test their product every half hour, their peanut butter is safe and that the illnesses are a mystery. steve osunsami, abc news. >> affects so many people. we have -- a closet full of peanut butter. >> all right, scary. >> have to get rid of. >>

is in roswell, new mexico. and, brian, just sitting around the newsroom, we were all sort of crest fallen, anticipating this hopefully history being made. set the scene for me there on the ground. disappointment. >> reporter: it sure is, brooke. we're all about as deflated that is balloon is right now. we can show you that balloon, our photo journalist mike love will try to zoom into it. the balloon is deflated on the ground over there. that was essentially the reason that this mission had to be aborted today. once they got the thing almost inflated, it looked like it was fully inflated, the winds started really whipping it around. i would say fairly severely. surface winds that came upon, i guess, fairly surprisingly, at that point they decided that it just was not optimum condition to launch this. they brought felix baumgartner out of the capsule on to a crane where he was lowered. he's in this air stream container, we believe next to the capsule. and so the mission is aborted for today. tomorrow, weather conditions not as certain, so this could be delayed beyond tomorrow, possibly to t

in mexico. they say there are two suspects detained on the border. they have to communicate with the local authorities. this is on the south side of the border. american agents on the north side say they heard some of the same rumors. but until you get fbi agents there and get some information that's when we'll get ideas whether they are suspects or just stories. the entire area from the border to five miles north where this occurred near naco is considered a crime scene. it's completely shut down. they have helicopters down there. we know more fbi agents have gone down there as well to help support those from the phoenix office that are on scene. we have been told from a sheriff's deputy in the region there have been positive developments so far. while there is officially no arrests. there are two people they have detained south side. the agents were responding to a sensor that went off five miles north of the bored when this went down early yesterday morning. it's not known if agents returned fire. law enforcement said there is a known drug trafficking corridor. >> when you are dealing w
